Facebook making changes to images interface

Facebook have been busy these past few months making significant changes to the UI including last weeks announment of changes to the way “pages” will be displayed. The most recent changes include the staggered roll out of the photo interface with some users having this new functionality for some time.

The new functionality includes a lightbox layer which will allow users to browse photos in a more fluid manner, allowing them to view the images without disrupting their position and losing the underneath layer. Other enhancements include high res images, photo download (not sure how this will work and if there will be IP/copy write issues) and the ability to bulk tag.

The new funcionality is set to hit the US first and be rolled out to the rest of the user base shortly after.
